How to Opt Out of Receiving More Relevant Advertising

  1. Go to
  2. Click on Sign in to select your preferred advanced advertising setting.

  3. Sign in with your XFINITY username and password.
  4. On the Users & Preferences tab, click on Manage advertising preferences.
    On the Users and Preferences tab, the Manage advanced advertising preferences link appears on the left, just above the Service Address.
  5. A pop-up will appear. Please read the information presented and scroll to the bottom.
  6. Select OPT OUT for Advanced Advertising Settings and click Save.
    Below the information about Advertising Preferences are links to additional information, radio buttons to opt in or out, and buttons to Cancel (left) or Save (right).

Why has this page changed from "Segmented Advertising" to "Your Advertising Preferences for Cable Video Services?" Is this a different opt-out?
This page still gives you the option to opt out of receiving more relevant advertising on our cable television-based video services. The language has changed to make it clearer that this opt-out applies only to these cable video services and to better explain what your choices are.

Why is this opt-out only for advertising on cable video services? What if I want to opt out of more relevant advertising online? How can I do that?
Advertising delivered through Comcast’s cable video-based video services is managed separately from online advertising. To opt out of receiving more relevant online advertising on Comcast’s websites, go to This page also includes a link that allows you to opt out of other companies’ behavioral advertising.

If I previously opted out of segmented advertising, will you still honor my choice? Or do I have to opt out of "Activity Data" and "Ad Groups?"
We will honor your prior choice. If you have already opted out of "segmented advertising" you do not need to opt out again. We will honor your choices going forward with the updated Your Advertising Preferences for Video Services page.

It may take up to 30 days for the preferences you express to take effect.

What is Activity Data exactly? What data do you collect and use to deliver more relevant advertising?
Activity data is simply information about how you use Comcast’s cable television services, and how you view the video we deliver to you on all platforms where it is available. You can learn more about the information we collect and how we use it by reading the Comcast Customer Privacy Notice.

If I don’t opt out, will you share information about me personally with advertisers?
No, Comcast does not share information about individual customers with advertisers. We do report how our customers in the aggregate (in groups) use our products and services. This includes reporting on ad delivery and ad viewing.

If I opt out, will I still see advertising? If I opt back in, will I see more ads?
Your choices about whether you want to see more relevant advertising will not affect the number of ads you see. You will still see advertising even if you opt out.
