Xfinity works with some of the most innovative smart home devices and service brands to give you enhanced security and more ways to control your connected home. That means the smart home devices you may already use, like lights and thermostats, may be seamlessly integrated into your Xfinity experience.
Once linked, you can control these devices from the same convenient place where you control your home security system or your home network.
Eligibility
You need a compatible smart home device, an eligible gateway and either a subscription to Self Protection, Pro Protection or Pro Protection Plus.
Note: Some Door Lock models have separate gateway eligibility requirements.

Where do I link my device?
xFi customers who subscribe to Self Protection need to link their devices using the Xfinity app.
Customers who subscribe to Pro Protection or Security Plus can choose to link their devices in the Xfinity Home app or the Xfinity app.
Can devices be linked in both the Xfinity and Xfinity Home apps?
If you subscribe to Pro Protection or Security Plus, you can link most compatible devices in both apps simultaneously, with the exception being devices that use Zigbee technology. Zigbee devices can only be linked in one app at a time. You can confirm a device uses Zigbee technology by finding the Zigbee sticker on the packaging or device itself.
Note: If you have a non-Xfinity Gateway and owned modem, you're required to link Zigbee devices using Xfinity Home.
How do I rename a linked device?
To rename a linked device, please use the manufacturer app associated with your device. Locks paired in the Xfinity app, except for August Locks, can be renamed on the Device Settings page.
In addition to controlling my devices, can I create rules to automatically change device settings?
If you're using the Xfinity Home app, you can use rules and scenes to control select devices. For example, if you don't want to come home to a dark house, you can create a rule to automatically turn on your Caseta Wireless Light at sunset.
If you're using the Xfinity app, you can enable a Lock Schedule from the Device Settings page to automatically lock the device at a certain time of day.
Can I buy these devices from Comcast?
The Kwikset Convert Smart Lock (Works with Xfinity Edition) can be purchased from Comcast directly. Some devices such as locks, lights and thermostats may be available to purchase through Xfinity Retail Stores. However, you can also purchase directly from the manufacturer or other retailers.
Does Comcast install these devices?
Comcast currently does not install these devices. For device-specific questions, please contact the manufacturer. Xfinity customers who would like assistance with installing these devices may contact HelloTech to schedule an appointment.
Can anyone else control my compatible devices?
Yes. The Primary user, Managers and Members on your account can access the Xfinity Home app and the Xfinity app to control eligible devices. Learn how to manage secondary users.
Will I have access to all the settings available in the app that comes with the device?
You’ll have access to the primary functions when using Xfinity Home or the Xfinity app; however, there are some functions that can't be controlled through Xfinity Home or the Xfinity app. You’ll continue to have access to additional settings using the device’s app or website.
